Onward Philosophy Press
Scholarly Philosophy
Scholarly Philosophy presents independently readable monographs and connected series that develop sustained arguments across major philosophical questions.
Editorial Scope
The scholarly list develops sustained inquiry into fundamental philosophical questions through independently readable monographs and conceptually connected series.
Independent Monographs
Each volume states the definitions, premises, and arguments required by its inquiry. Connections across a series may deepen the question, but they do not replace the responsibility of each work to stand on its own.
Connected Series
When a question requires several works, the relation among them is conceptual: each advances a distinct argument and remains intelligible in its own context.
Standards of Argument
The press values conceptual accuracy, explicit reasoning, careful use of sources, and writing that allows readers to examine rather than merely receive claims.
